A shift in Blogorities

Well if anyone was ever reading this blog, they probably wondered what happened to that guy who never really said anything. The truth is I just ran out of things to not say. However my life is starting to take a turn in a new direction, so I think now I will have things to say. No longer will this blog be all about movies and such nonsense. You could say I've had a shift in Blogorities.

In July I talked to a missionary friend from Kenya. He mentioned that World Gospel Mission (WGM) in East Africa, along with the national Africa Gospel Church (AGC) are in need of a video person to help let various AGC congregations know what their AGC missionaries are up to. My response was "Hey sign me up."

This time that I've been living in Michigan working as a cashier my plan has been to find that job that would help me learn a bit more about video production and then some day move into missionary service. For over two years now that goal has not been working out, except for this past several months where I've been able to do some freelance work out of my house. So for the past while I've been thinking that I should start looking into skipping that first step and see about getting into mission work now. I had been putting off the move in part because I thought I may finally have a job lining up. However when this missionary friend (John Muelhiesen) presented me with work in Africa my heart jumped in a way that made me say "Now is the time."

With this new goal in mind I pushed to see if my other job opportunity would work out, it was going to be a six month internship at a church. However, God finally closed that door and locked it just as I was making contact with various people about this possibility of going back to Kenya.

There are a lot of details to work out still and I have to finish my application, but I am very excited about this prospect. I'm looking at it as the spring board for moving into full time missions, weather or not things in East Africa pan out to a full time ministry position, it would help me realize what I still need to learn, and what applications there could be for media ministries through out the world.

At this point I know there's probably few people who will stumble upon this blog and care about any of this. However, once I get some details nailed down and get out a support letter I will let many loved ones know about this blog. In preparation for that day let me say now "Thank you to all of you who have loved me and supported me through out my life. And thank you for your prayers and support in this latest endeavor."
