What can I say, I've given in to the blogging phenom. Really I probably have no license to be doing this as I've only really read like 3 blogs in my life. Two of those are by friends of mine who have all kinds of exciting stuff going on in their lives so of course they have a lot to write about. The other was once I read a couple blog entries by a guy in Uganda who was saying that the best way to keep Africa from destroying itself was to reinstate colonization and have the white man take it over. (Let me clarify that he is a black Ugandan so it's not some racist thing of saving Africa from the Africans) Anyway, my point in all this is that I feel somewhat like I don't have a lot to offer to those who may stumble upon and read my blog. There isn't currently a lot going on in my life, and I don't know that I have any opinions that are quite as strong and interesting as colonizing the third world.
Still I do have a brain that thinks about stuff, and as I get dressed each day or find myself alone in my car I do have a tendency to ramble on to myself about what's wrong with the world, or why Spielberg and Tim Burton are great directors, or how life would be better if blah blah blah. And really I suppose this meets the minimum requirements for a blog. I can find something to go on and on about and think that maybe someone cares enough to read it. But still even if no one cares to read it, I'm not depending on this for an income like a newspaper columnist, and I'm not paying out anything for the chance to share my views with anyone who accidentally stumbles upon it.
That's the beauty of the blog... it doesn't matter if you care what I have to say or not, it's our constitutional amendment of free speech at its best. I can say anything on here and no one can hunt me down because I put almost nothing in my portfolio. It's like I have a soap box in the town square and I can speak my mind with out the fear that one of you has just bought a box of rotten tomatoes at a discount price in preparation for just such an occasion.
So where am I going here? Is this really going to be a blog about blogging? Why is there always someone who brings vegetables to a speech?
Where I'm going is to say that this is just an introduction to me and my blog, if you already don't like it don't bother coming back because it will probably never get any better. It's also my way of introducing myself to the concept of blogging, so no I'm not ALWAYS going to blog on blogging, but this turned into kind of an interesting entry I think. And someone has to bring veggies to a speech because otherwise we'd end up throwing chairs and have nothing to sit on.

Hi, 3Birds, I did not even know you were reading my blog, let alone criticizing how often I post. If I don't post other people complain, if I do post you complain. Blogging is a very difficult business to get into and please people.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I am in Indiana right now and just completed reading your blog about the way you talk to yourself in the car. Nice start, watch out though, people are going to want more.
I have not heard from you since you left, we need to work on doing that follow-up call that tells people you arrived where you are going and did not die on the way. I mean, waiting until one of us blogs just does not cut it.
I am sitting in the center at headquarters waiting to meet the Zirkles after their meeting is completed. I have two church appointments out here, but I need to get home soon because my sister is home and I am missing it.
You said in your blog that nothing exciting was going on in your life, have you followed up with that interview yet?
We are probably going to color Easter eggs soon, ya wanna?
